TUESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2019

It's taken me a while to announce this on here but I have BIG NEWS!

My dissertation, written for my third and final year of studying Creative Writing at University, is the winner of the Black Pear Press Prize for fiction 2019! It will therefore be published as of May 2020 as a novella in Worcester.

I will be spending the next several months working with the editors of Black Pear Press to refine it, and plan to upkeep my blog with this experience. I'm so proud that I have achieved this and I'm so excited to see the finished product.

FRIDAY 24TH MAY 2019

The big reveal! Well, big to me, it seems. The title of my debut novel (with any luck) is 'Riding Bikes', and the following is its general plot:

Seven children who live in a small town in British countryside encounter the confusion and stresses of growing up and alien encounters. Surrounded by the mystery and intrigue of Newfangle forest, Joshua, Natasha, Derby, Luke, Hallie and Velma find the remnants of an abandoned town whilst playing in the woods when they are nine-years-old. No one else seems to know it's there and they claim the place for their own as a secret den. As they grow older, however, they begin to question its existence and the strange experiences they have there; odd lights circle the place and they see inexplicable creatures lurking about in the dark. Set between 2007 and 2015, the children experience the quick and sudden advancements in technology alongside growing up and maturing, using their loyalty to one another to investigate what's really going on in their secret den as well as navigate the maze of adolescence.

I am so excited to be writing this and to finally have time to do so! I have a LOT of free time now that I have finished university, and I plan on maybe releasing the first few chapters onto my Wattpad account. Until then, it's time to crack on with the actual writing.

SUNDAY 30TH JUNE 2018

Yes, I'm aware that it's been over a year since my last update on this novel. However, life happens and things shift dramatically around so that the result is very different from what we expect.

'In Which We Leave' is finished BUT put aside for now. I just don't think that it's ready for proper publication yet and won't be for some years. Therefore, I also won't be posting the finished product on my Wattpad.

I am now working on a completely new idea to keep my life fresh from some recent events, and will posting updates on that novel instead, which I can reveal is also for the YA genre.

WEDNESDAY 1ST MARCH 2017

The first four full chapters are officially available up on my Wattpad account! Please feel free to leave me a comment to let me know whether you like it and any improvements that the book would seriously benefit from.

Again, I will be trying to upload much more as often as I can what with my uni course taking up a lot of my other time. For now, read it so far here:

SATURDAY 28TH JANUARY 2017

I'm working on my first full length young adult novel! (The other chapter-stories on my Wattpad account are just children's stories.) The prologue and the first full chapter are up and available to read at:

'In Which We Leave' is a story based on the major changes that we all had to face and deal with in our teenage years along with the different stages of moving on. Set in 2016, the year that everything seemed to go wrong, Jane is the embodiment of hate for the year and struggles to get by with several negative factors stopping her from believing in herself.

I will update this novel as often as I can, I hope that you enjoy it!
